A stunning Swedish Gustavsberg Pottery square Domino Dish from the famous 'Domino' series designed by the acclaimed Stig Lindberg circa 1955.
Stig Lindberg (1916 - 1982) was one of Sweden's most important post war designers. He was prolific being not only a ceramic designer but also a glass, textile and industrial designer as well as a painter and illustrator. Stig Lindberg started his career in 1937 at Gustavsberg, the renowned Swedish porcelain company - which originated in 1826 - where he created stunning studio ceramics during a long career.
This striking weighty ceramic has a wonderful bronze glaze which reflects emerald tones. It is in excellent condition with no defects from use. There is a crease on the back of the dish as photographed which we assume to be a defect from the original firing process at the pottery.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a stunning ceramic designed by the celebrated Stig Lindberg.
